Château Lagrange Collection Remarquable Box
Château Lagrange has been producing wine for almost 2 centuries in the Médoc region of France. What is remarkably unique about their vineyard is that 85% of its surface are Grands Crus Classés.
In 2022, Château Lagrange wanted to create a limited-edition box that brought together six of their exceptional vintages, all vinified in barrels made from three-hundred-year-old oak trees. This impressively-sized box was a real challenge. The lid is made of solid oak (as is the entire packaging). It was machined out of a single piece of wood, creating shapes that evoke the rolling hills of the Graves region. The lid interior is made of black-lacquered satinwood, leaving space for a brochure. Due to the challenge posed by the packaging’s size, each box was assembled by hand. A black lacquered particle board – visible through the bottle-shaped cutouts in the wooden platform – lines the interior. The box is finished with a natural, open-pore varnish that puts the oak’s natural texture in the limelight.
